Career Fair at Hickory High School - December 7, 2010  – 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Hickory High will host a Career Fair to highlight career opportunities in Catawba County. Over 1000 HHS students will be able to talk with  business leaders to learn more about  positions available in our area, plus find out what  experience and educational attainment is required to gain employment. The businesses will represent the 16  NC Career Clusters.

Newton Conover High and Hickory High Sophomores take KeyTrain Test – NCH on Dec 14 &  Dec 16; HHS on February 23 — Time varies, based on CTE class time.

Students in the 10th grade who are taking a CTE course  in the spring semester will have the opportunity to serve as the second pilot group selected to participate in Education Matters in Catawba County. The students will take the KeyTrain Test, which is the practice test for the WorkKeys Test, a nationally recognized test used by employers around the country. Students will receive a NC Career Readiness Certificate, create a Career Ready Portfolio, and receive Employability Training during their senior year.
