Internship Opportunities in Catawba County

Internships provide opportunities for students to experiment and pursue careers that match academic and personal interests while offering valuable insight and experience to help determine their career path.

Internships help students become viable, experienced job applicants when seeking employment after graduation. The benefits to students include career experience and exposure, professional networking contacts, and can often lead to mentoring relationships which can provide advice, direction, and encouragement for the student’s future.

Education Matters businesses understand the importance of  giving students the opportunity to learn more about career opportunities in Catawba County and will consider working with students at the various levels of educational attainment – high school, community college (2 year degree or certification/license program) and 4 year universities, and upon graduation when entering a profession.

High School

Hickory Public Schools, Catawba County Schools, and Newton-Conover City Schools all have a variety of internship programs and opportunities throughout the school year and summer months. All programs are coordinated through school system staff.
